Production Floor Expediter (Johnston)

The Town Dock is a family owned, growing business. We are the largest supplier of calamari in the United States. The Town Dock recently won two exciting awards, one for 8th Fastest Growing Private Company in 2016 and another for Overall Excellence in a Mid-Size Company in 2017. Both presented by Providence Business News.

We are looking to hire a candidate with good production experience who can help physically support and expedite our various needs on the production floor in our Johnston, RI facility. The Production Floor Expediter will provide:

  • Efficient and accurate support to all production, truck loading and unloading and freezer jobs
  • Pallet jack and fork truck support for all production lines, shipping and receiving and freezer work
  • Safe and efficient operation of pallet jacks and fork trucks
  • Completion of all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
  • Hands on support for the physically demanding jobs of master packing, whole squid packing and chef ready line packing
  • Hands on support for rebox and rebag lines
  • Freezer loading and unloading as well as organization and labeling
  • Assistance with other operational departments as needed

Qualifications for this position:

  • Basic skills with pallet jacks and fork trucks
  • Ability to lift and carry weights of 60 lbs. consistently
  • Basic math skills
  • Written skills for record keeping
  • Organized and careful work habits
  • Flexibility in work hours and tasks; ability to work overtime
  • Basic written and verbal communication in English
  • Ability to work well in a diverse multi-lingual environment
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish/English a plus

Freezer / Inventory Specialist (Johnston)

We are looking to hire a Freezer Inventory Specialist for our Johnston, RI facility. The Freezer/Inventory Specialist will provide:

  • The organization, layout, cleanliness and labeling of products in the Holding Freezer
  • The accuracy of received product against the receiving paperwork
  • The accuracy of shipped sales against the sales orders
  • The accuracy of trucks loaded on a planned transfer against the paperwork
  • Assistance to other departments when the work load is light in the freezer
  • Accurate and timely inventories for the freezer

Credit & Collections Specialist

The Town Dock is a family owned, growing business, in the port of Galilee. We are the largest supplier of calamari in the United States. The Town Dock recently won two exciting awards, one for 8th Fastest Growing Private Company in 2016 and another for Overall Excellence in a Mid-Size Company in 2017. Both presented by Providence Business News.

We are looking for a Credit & Collections Specialist to join our team! This position is responsible for ensuring customer accounts stay current.

Responsible For:

  • Contact customers whose accounts are past due and/or over their credit limit.
  • Build good relationships with customer payment contacts.
  • Ensure sounds decisions are made regarding the releasing and holding of customer orders based upon financial condition of the account.
  • Update the customer credit hold information daily and communicate to sales.
  • Process credit applications and establish and review credit limits and terms for both new and existing accounts. Recommend change to credit limits and/or terms to supervisor.
  • Manage cash applications and ensure all cash receipts are applied properly.
  • Process deposits using onsite check deposit.
  • Research and resolve all cuts and credits.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in credit and collections.
  • Analytical skills to process information logically to address credit issues.
  • A background in accounting or bookkeeping is helpful.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to fully utilize an accounting software package, Excel and Outlook.
  • Capability of maintaining organization while balancing many duties and tasks.
  • Ability to work with a great deal of information confidentially and objectively.
  • Eagerness to learn and have the ambition to help create positive changes when necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team as well as independently.
