Freezer Inventory Specialist (Johnston)

The Town Dock is a family owned, growing business in the port of Galilee. We are the largest supplier of calamari in the United States.  The Town Dock has received the following awards from Providence Business News: 8th Fastest Growing Private Company in 2016, Overall Excellence in a Mid-Size Company in 2017 and Lean Management in 2018.

We are looking to hire a full time Freezer Inventory Specialist for our Johnston, RI production facility with good forklift skills and inventory experience who can help stage orders and keep our Holding Freezer organized and inventoried. The Freezer Inventory Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Keeps the freezer cleaned and organized with clear and accurate labeling.
  • Receives and verifies incoming product.
  • Stages and physically ships product for sales and planned transfer.
  • Provides accurate and timely inventories for the freezer.
  • Assists in Production when the workload is light in the freezer.
  • Enters data into the computer for inventory database on Excel and prints reports from computer system

Qualifications:

  •  Previous experience, solid skills and ability to operate fork lift and pallet jack.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse multi-lingual environment
  • Physical ability to lift and carry 60 pounds consistently.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and verbally.
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and overtime as production schedule deems it necessary.

Production Floor Expediter (Johnston)

We are looking to hire someone with good production experience who can help physically support and expedite our various needs on the production floor in our Johnston, RI facility. The Production Floor Expediter will provide:

  • Pallet jack and fork truck support for all Production lines, shipping and receiving, and freezer work.
  • Provides hands on support for the physically demanding jobs of master packing, whole squid packing, and chef ready line packing.
  • Provides hands on support for rebox and rebag lines
  • Provides support for Freezer loading and unloading as well as organization and labeling

International Purchasing Assistant (Narragansett)

The Town Dock is currently seeking an International Purchasing Assistant.

Our Purchasing team is responsible for ensuring that the company has a sufficient supply of frozen products to meet the demands. We are looking to hire a person at the Narragansett facility to assist with the responsibilities for the department.  This position reports to the Assistant Director of International Purchasing and Sales and works with a team of others within the department. This individual is responsible for documentation tasks related to the timely international purchasing and processing of seafood products, data entry, as well as maintenance of various spreadsheets pertaining to seafood import and export.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Creation/Maintenance of paperless files
  • Communication of confirmed orders, payment status, and shipment status with suppliers
  • Purchase order entry (including paperless document links) in computer system
  • Updating of payment spreadsheet: includes tracking and obtaining proper backup and authorization for payments
  • Maintenance of various inventory spreadsheets
  • Creation and maintenance of written procedures for the department
  • Inventory reconciliation on weekly production reports
  • Train in and assist with other administrative departmental activities, including bank documentation

Ideal candidate will have:

  • BA/BS degree from 2 or 4-year higher education program or work equivalent
  • Skills and ability to use a personal computer, various software packages, and perform internet research
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time for administrative work
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel)
  • Ability to fluently speak and read English
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail

International Logistics Coordinator

The Town Dock is a growing, family owned business located in Point Judith, RI. They have been in business since 1980. The Town Dock is looking for an International Logistics Coordinator to add to the team in our Logistics Department. This position will mainly entail documentation review for inbound/outbound containers and some Excel experience is required.

Basic function:

Assist with Administrative tasks related to the documentation, regulatory compliance, data entry, maintenance of various spreadsheets and filing aspects of seafood import and export.

Principle duties include:

  • Review incoming import documents for accuracy.
  • Shipping/customs agent invoicing approval, absorption in
  • Listing Import entries on Customs List
  • Filing of Purchase and Sales Folders
  • Track pending QC’s and send sheets to Johnston as needed
  • Seafrozen production spreadsheets, PO’s, QC’s
  • Send original documents to shipping & customs agents; track missing/late documents
  • Documents to Shipping/Inventory Manager for Inbounds
  • Print/File Customs required documents (delivery orders, FDA may proceeds)

Secondary Duties:

  • Purchases/Buy-Ins and track shipped & unshipped PI’s and ISF’s
  • Documentation, planned transfers, and payments for foreign suppliers
  • Inventory spreadsheets
  • Update and maintain production reports

Requirements:

  • 1 year of documentation review experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and other various software
  • Ability to effectively interact with other departments and company staff
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Timely and accurate job completion.
