Recipe: Calamari Miso Ramen
Calamari Miso Ramen will elevate your typical ramen noodles into an even more flavorful and delicious dish to enjoy. There are many ways to make ramen, but the core ingredients are broth, noodles, protein, and toppings.
Adding calamari to this beautiful dish combines the flavor of salt and sweetness. Calamari in ramen adds a mild, slightly sweet flavor that dissolves into the broth and soaks into the noodles. You can achieve this savory flavor by adding calamari rings and tentacles to noodles and cooking them for 2 to 4 minutes. Marinating the calamari in soy sauce will bring a new and delicious dimension.
According to the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum, the Chinese noodle dish ramen was created in China and spread to Japan's local food culture. In Japan, ramen means pulled noodles, which is pulling wheat flour dough into long, elastic strips. As a result, the fresh served noodles are more silky and chewy than the hand-cut machine-made noodles.
One of the joys of the ramen dish is how versatile it can be. Adding calamari undoubtedly will elevate this traditional meal.
