If you said yes, then our Accounts Payable Clerk role at The Town Dock might be right for you!

Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Review vessel/outside vendor seafood purchase orders, apply deductions, and complete preparation for payments on a daily basis, maintain ice sales spreadsheet and prepare weekly SAFIS reporting.
  • Review invoices and expense reports for quantity/price accuracy and charge expenses to the proper expense accounts and cost centers.
  • Review accounts payable balances and process weekly check runs to ensure all payables are within terms.
  • Prepare wire transfer and ACH payments online.
  • Process outgoing payments in compliance with Financial Policies and Procedures.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
  • Prepare monthly broker commission reports.
  • Prepare monthly sales/use tax returns.
  • Review and verify general ledger postings of The Town Dock each month and make any corrections necessary for financial statement accuracy.
  • Assist with month end close and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Prepare analysis of accounts and produce monthly reports.
  • Continue to improve the payment process.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of accounts payable.
  • Proven work experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk.

If you said yes, then our Maintenance Technician role at The Town Dock might be right for you!

We are looking to add a Maintenance Technician to our Maintenance team. Together, the team is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Town Dock’s buildings, grounds, equipment, vehicles, and boats to ensure continuous productivity within the business.

In this role, this individual reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining both facilities, as well as the equipment. This position works primarily out of our Narragansett facility, and is expected to travel to the Johnston location as needed.

Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain facilities and equipment in Narragansett and Johnston.
  • Pallet jack and forklift maintenance.
  • Plant wide preventative maintenance as assigned.
  • Snow removal.
  • Assist with the repair and maintenance of boats when necessary.
  • Complete assigned work orders within timely manner. Work orders may include mechanical work, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, welding and minor electrical.  
  • Enter work orders into CMMS Program on a daily basis.
  • Work in both Johnston and Narragansett facilities depending on workload and as directed by supervisor
  • Work with other maintenance staff on assigned projects.
  • Travel to pick up parts/equipment as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the maintenance shop and work areas on the job
  • Maintain DOT, HACCP, OSHA and Food Safety regulations throughout maintenance responsibilities.
  • Special projects as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor
  • On occasion this position is required to answer calls after hours. Call-backs and/or extended hours are required when needed.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.

 

Ideal candidate will have:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Driver’s license required.
  • Ability/skill to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
  • Basic understanding of pumps, motors, gearboxes, pallet jacks, fork trucks, electrical, and construction.
  • Ability to weld and fabricate.
  • Carpentry/electrical skills.
  • Refrigeration experience desired.
  • Willingness to grow knowledge base in areas such as refrigeration and forklift repair.
  • Lockout/Tagout Training or the willingness to be trained
  • Capable of working productively while unsupervised.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities.

Our team is growing and we are looking to add an Operations Associate to our Operations team.

In this role, this individual reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for assisting the Operations team with all aspects of the daily physical work of the Back Dock and Production. We have open positions at both our Narragansett & Johnston Facilities.

If you said yes, then our Quality Control Technician II role at The Town Dock might be right for you!

Our team is growing again, and we are looking to add a Quality Control Technician II to our Quality team. The Quality Team is responsible for the overall quality from catch to consumer for The Town Dock.

In this role, this individual reports to the Assistant Manager of Quality Assurance and is responsible for monitoring operations and ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices, for conducting product quality assessments, and completing reports and other quality and regulatory documentation. This position primarily works out of the Narragansett and Johnston facilities with rotating coverage in New Bedford part of the year.

Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Pull samples of raw squid for counts, weights, and other quality control requirements
  • Thaw samples of frozen squid for counts, weights, and other quality control requirements
  • Accurately record and report on raw and frozen squid sampling results and deviations from The Town Dock specifications
  • Monitor, record, and report any deviations from FDA Good Manufacturing Practices and The Town Dock policies
  • Conduct and report daily Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) documentation, including but not limited to sanitation sheets, histamine species checks, cold storage logs, and oversee corrective actions as needed
  • Check the calibration of all temperature recording devices, scales, and metal detectors as scheduled
  • Perform and report microbiological swab testing and oversee corrective actions as needed
  • Conduct shelf life and other testing as needed on fresh and frozen squid
  • Ensure the proper storage and segregation of Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) products from non-MSC inventory and reports compliance issues
  • Support business needs related to audit preparedness, production, and other quality-related tasks
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

  

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Associates degree in a Food Science or Other Science curriculum, or work equivalent, preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience in the food industry or in a quality control role in an unrelated industry
  • Self-starter with organized and detailed work habits and excellent time management skills
  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Expectation to work an on-call and rotating schedule including early morning shifts, afternoon shifts and weekends at the Johnston, Narragansett, and New Bedford facilities.
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Physical abilities: Climb ladders to inspect equipment, lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time in cool temperatures and wet manufacturing environments
  • Flexibility in planning to accommodate the quick changes in seafood production
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) in English required, Spanish a plus
  • Basic math skills

Schedule:

Ability to work early morning schedule Tuesday through Saturday, and available for an on-call and rotating schedule.
