On September 6, 2024, The Town Dock hosted our third annual Fishermen's Golf Tournament at Laurel Lane Country Club in West Kingston, Rhode Island. The day was filled with fun sportsmanship as we raised money for the Point Judith Fishermen's Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund provides educational assistance in the form of scholarships to local high school seniors and families in the fishing industry looking to further their education.
This year’s tournament included 36 teams from local businesses, fishermen, and community members. Participants not only enjoyed a beautiful day filled with friendly competition, but also raffles, chowder, dinner, and even lobster rolls!
The tournament featured a highly anticipated raffle, which was made possible thanks to the generosity of local businesses. These businesses donated various raffle items that added excitement for players at the end of the day. The raffle items included local photographs that captured what Rhode Island fishing has to offer, gift cards to favorite local restaurants and shops, and of course, Town Dock squid squad swag.
More importantly, during this event everyone was united with the common goal of supporting the Point Judith Fishermen’s Memorial Scholarship Fund, making the event not just a day of fun, but also a meaningful opportunity to give back. This scholarship fund allows high school students in the Narragansett/South Kingston area within the fishing community to continue their education. With the support of the Point Judith Fishermen's Scholarship fund, as a community, we have the ability to empower these students.
