In 1980, Noah Clark’s music career was not going as planned. He decided that, until the band made it big, he would clean fish to support his family.
More than 40 years later, what started at the town’s public dock in Wickford, Rhode Island, is The Town Dock, a name known around the world for the very best calamari. We moved a little ways down the road and unload vessels every day at our docks in the Port of Galilee, on Point Judith, in Narragansett, Rhode Island. We’re still a family-owned company, now in its second generation with Noah’s son, Ryan, The Town Dock’s President & CEO.
These days, The Town Dock is recognized around the world for our quality wholesale calamari and our squid expertise.
The Town Dock is a market leader in foodservice and retail calamari. We are vertically integrated and partner with a dedicated fleet of fishing vessels, local fishermen, and global suppliers.
Our import Purchasing team works in tandem with our Regulatory team to ensure our overseas partners adhere to our industry-leading quality, safety, and ethical supply chain standards and policies. Our dedicated Supply Chain teams moves squid across the country and around the world. Our in-house quality team of food scientists ensure the quality and consistency of every product, whether it's caught and processed right here in Rhode Island or imported from around the world.
Additionally, with chefs and foodservice professionals leading our business development team, we provide cooking tips, margin-boosting ideas, and delicious recipes, to help our customers grow their own businesses, too.
We are a major employer in the Port of Galilee and an important part of the Rhode Island commercial fishing industry.

I started out in the seafood industry as a fish cutter in Point Judith, Rhode Island in 1965. I have seen many changes in the seafood industry since then! In 1980, I started The Town Dock in Wickford, Rhode Island. We saw the potential in squid, and we moved to Point Judith as the company grew.
More than 40 years later, we are still a family-owned company and we still pride ourselves on our honesty and integrity. My goal then and our goal now is provide our customers with the highest quality product and service you can’t find anywhere else. We hold ourselves to a higher standard every day.
